I've had the Dare for over a month and this is my pros and cons: Pros: Function-packed telephone! There's nothing lacking if you want to listen to music (MP3 participant), surf the net (has an HTML browser), bunch of instruments (calendar, alarm, notepad, etc.), camera and video (3.2MP and high-velocity video) and with Verizon Wireless superb name quality. The contact display controls mostly every characteristic and has a person camera button, quantity button and call and power buttons. It has a traditional dial pad-like keyboard that will flip to QWERTY touch display keyboard once you flip the telephone from vertical to horizontal position. The Dare uses external memory (microSD card) up to 8 GB and may be accessed by Bluetooth or USB mass storage. Design is elegant. Surrounding the three-inch touchscreen is a chrome trim that's nice to the contact and the back of the Dare is rubberized for good grip. The back also options the digicam lens with flash and the external speaker. Cons: The MP3 participant generally is a glitchy and it is not suitable with iTunes (does not sync). Typically there's initialization issues however this could be attributed to the microSD card. The 3.2MP digicam that touted with as a Schneider Kreutznach lens is over-hyped. This won't change your digital p/s camera. Lag-time for taking candid photographs is challenging. Even at the highest resolution, quality can disappoint. It's higher with video, IMHO. Though the camera is enjoyable with its Panoramic setting. The HTML browser does not do flash and people used to the iPhone will be disappointed. It is so-so. Not nice however not unhealthy, either. Favorites are limited to 23(!?!?) addresses. The touchscreen attracts smears and smudges like crazy. You may find yourself always wiping the screen but when it's clear it's beautiful. Some level out that the screen is not glass moderately plastic and could be a negative. I haven't got a real drawback with this, though it's possible you'll wish to be extra careful in not damaging the screen. Though the touchscreen will be calibrated there's occasional mis-types. However with an excellent calibration the keyboard responds pretty well. Abstract: I really do enjoy the cellphone for all its features. I nearly discover myself utilizing this more than my 17-inch MacBook Pro! When all of the features work, it's fantastic. The Dare will get lots of seems to be and often mistaken for the iPhone. Calls are about the most effective you can get for cell phones and VZW's high-speed service makes accessing the online convenient. I highly recommend people who find themselves interested within the iPhone however aren't desirous about AT&T to look at the Dare and Verizon. |
